From New York, economy award fares to Delhi came in at 40,000 to 55,000 points one way (7 of 10 finds) in PointsGPT's recorded finds, September and October 2026. New York business finds ran from 33,000 to 102,300 points, with three of them at 70,000 (7 finds). From Los Angeles, the two recorded business finds were 109,000 and 110,000 points. These are recorded finds for one traveler, one way, as of 20 October 2026. They were available when someone searched and may not be by the time you do. Award availability changes frequently.
What the recorded finds show
A recorded find is the cheapest award fare a PointsGPT search returned in the cabin and on the dates the person asked for. The figures below are airline miles, one way, for one traveler, to Indira Gandhi International Airport. When your card points transfer at 1:1, the miles and the card points are the same number.
From New York (JFK, Newark and LaGuardia):
- Economy (10 finds): half were at or below 55,000 points, a quarter at or below 40,000, and the lowest was 33,625. Two finds were far higher, at 125,000 and 150,000.
- Business (7 finds): 33,000, 70,000, 70,000, 70,000, 88,000, 88,000 and 102,300 points.
- Premium economy: two recorded finds, at 62,500 and 200,000 points.
From Los Angeles (LAX and the nearby airports):
- Business: two recorded finds, at 109,000 and 110,000 points.
- Economy: no recorded finds in this period.
From every departure city we recorded, including San Francisco, Phoenix and Chicago:
- Business (17 finds): half were at or below 88,000 points and a quarter at or below 70,000.
- From San Francisco alone, business finds ranged from 70,000 to 181,000 points (4 finds).
Of the Delhi searches that reached our award data, 94% found at least one award fare in the cabin asked for (31 of 33). New York is where most Delhi searches start, and the samples from elsewhere are small. Some New York economy finds came from the same traveler searching the same trip more than once, so read the economy figures as a range, not a typical price.
Which programs priced these fares
Each search shows a board of fares, and we recorded the airline program behind each one. On the Delhi business boards, Emirates Skywards, Flying Blue and Air Canada Aeroplan appeared most often, followed by United MileagePlus and Turkish Airlines' program. Aeroplan was most often the fare shown first. On the economy boards, United MileagePlus appeared on every board we recorded, with Flying Blue and Qatar Avios close behind.
These are the card points that reach each program, from the transfer grid PointsGPT uses:
- Aeroplan: Amex Membership Rewards, Bilt Points, Capital One miles and Chase Ultimate Rewards, all at 1:1.
- United MileagePlus: Bilt and Chase at 1:1.
- Flying Blue: Amex, Bilt, Capital One, Chase and Citi ThankYou Points at 1:1.
- Emirates Skywards: Bilt at 1:1, Amex and Citi at 5 points to 4 miles, and Capital One at 4 to 3.
- Qatar Avios: Amex, Bilt, Capital One and Citi at 1:1.
- Turkish Airlines: Bilt, Capital One and Citi at 1:1.
- Etihad Guest, which also priced some business finds: Bilt, Capital One and Citi at 1:1.
Of these, Chase points reach Aeroplan, United MileagePlus and Flying Blue. Partner lists and ratios change, so check your card's current partner list before you transfer. A transfer cannot be undone.
Count the cash part before you transfer
Every award fare carries taxes and fees paid in cash, and some programs add carrier surcharges on top. On the recorded Delhi finds, the program made a large difference:
- Skywards business: a high three-figure to four-figure cash charge.
- United MileagePlus business: single figures.
- Skywards economy: a three-figure charge.
- United and American Airlines AAdvantage economy: two figures.
A business fare at 70,000 points with a small cash charge can cost far less in total than a cheaper-looking fare with a four-figure surcharge. The surcharge trap explains how to spot the difference before you move points.
Plan your search
- Family groups: search for every traveler at once. One award fare on a flight does not mean the same price is open for five.
- Connections: every one of the cheapest finds we could trace to a program included a connection. Compare total travel time, not only the points.
If a fare disappears between your search and your booking, why award availability vanishes explains the usual reasons.
Points or cash?
Before you transfer, compare the award fare's full cost, the points plus the cash part, with the cash fare for the same flight. When the cash fare is already low, paying cash can keep your points for a trip where they cover more. Our guide to points versus cash covers the questions to ask.
How to search it in PointsGPT
Type the trip the way you would say it, for example:
Business class from New York to Delhi, any day from 28 October to 4 November, 2 travelers
- Tell PointsGPT which card points you hold, so it can mark the fares those points reach.
- Compare the points and the cash part on each fare, and check the connection and total travel time.
- Confirm the fare with the airline program before you transfer, because the transfer cannot be reversed.
