Economy award fares to Amsterdam from New York started at 20,000 points one way, with half of the 19 finds at or below 21,700, in PointsGPT's recorded finds, September to November 2026. Business from New York started at 37,000 points, and half of the 63 finds were at or below 80,000. From Los Angeles, half of the 39 business finds were at or below 90,000 points. These are recorded finds for one traveler, one way, as of 3 November 2026, from US departure cities. They were available when someone searched and may not be by the time you do. Award availability changes frequently.
What the recorded finds show
A recorded find is the cheapest award fare a PointsGPT search returned in the cabin and on the dates the person asked for. The figures below are airline miles, one way, for one traveler, to Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS). When your card points transfer at 1:1, the miles and the card points are the same number.
From New York (JFK, Newark and LaGuardia):
- Economy (19 finds, from 17 people): four were 20,000 points, all Delta SkyMiles nonstops, and half were at or below 21,700. 6 of the 19 were nonstop.
- Premium economy (4 finds): 40,000, 50,000, 58,380 and 90,000 points.
- Business (63 finds, from 60 people): the lowest were three Virgin Atlantic finds at 37,000 points, and half were at or below 80,000. Only 2 of the 63 were nonstop.
From Los Angeles (LAX and the nearby airports):
- Economy (8 finds): half were at or below 25,000 points. The two cheapest, at 19,000, connected. Two of the 25,000 finds, both Flying Blue, were nonstop.
- Premium economy (5 finds): 39,000, 40,000, 40,000, 119,500 and 123,500 points.
- Business (39 finds): one at 49,000, five at 57,500, and half at or below 90,000.
Several of these city samples are small, so read them as a range.

Which programs priced these fares
Of the 334 Amsterdam finds, Flying Blue showed on the board for 169, Air Canada Aeroplan for 134 and United MileagePlus for 129. Flying Blue also priced the most finds, 55 of the 334, ahead of United (41), American Airlines AAdvantage (39), Aeroplan (38) and Delta SkyMiles (32). In business, United priced 33 of the 225 finds, and Aeroplan and AAdvantage 31 each. In economy, Flying Blue priced 18 of the 69 and JetBlue TrueBlue 15. You can see the programs PointsGPT searches in our help pages.
These are the card points that reach each program, from the transfer grid PointsGPT uses:
- Flying Blue: Amex Membership Rewards, Bilt Points, Capital One miles, Chase Ultimate Rewards and Citi ThankYou Points, all at 1:1.
- United MileagePlus: Bilt and Chase at 1:1.
- AAdvantage: Citi at 1:1.
- Aeroplan: Amex, Bilt, Capital One and Chase at 1:1.
- Delta SkyMiles: Amex at 1:1.
- JetBlue TrueBlue: Chase and Citi at 1:1, Amex at 250 points to 200, and Capital One at 5 to 3.
- Virgin Atlantic: Amex, Bilt, Chase and Citi at 1:1.
- Alaska Atmos: Bilt at 1:1.
- TAP Miles&Go: Bilt and Capital One at 1:1.
Partner lists and ratios change, so check your card's current partner list before you transfer. A transfer cannot be undone.
Watch the cash part, especially in business
Every award fare carries taxes and fees paid in cash, and some programs add carrier surcharges. On the recorded Amsterdam finds, the cash part depended on the program.
- Economy: all 18 Flying Blue finds carried three-figure cash charges, and 13 of the 15 TrueBlue finds did. All 7 Delta finds carried single-figure charges.
- Business: all 27 Flying Blue finds carried three-figure charges, and all 19 Qantas and all 17 Emirates finds carried four-figure ones. Alaska Atmos was mostly four-figure (12 of 15). The 37,000-point Virgin Atlantic finds from New York each carried a three-figure charge.
- Lower cash in business: all 33 United finds carried single- or two-figure charges, and all 12 Aeromexico finds two-figure ones. Aeroplan business split 17 three-figure and 14 two-figure. AAdvantage business split 17 three-figure, 9 two-figure and 5 single-figure. The Dallas AAdvantage finds at 57,500 carried two-figure charges, while all five Los Angeles AAdvantage finds at the same points price carried three-figure ones.
Add the points and the cash part together before you choose, and see the surcharge trap for why programs charge so differently for the same flight.
Plan your search
- Nonstop or one stop: few business finds were nonstop. If a nonstop matters to you, search for it and compare the price.
- Two or more travelers: search for everyone at once. One award fare on a flight does not mean the same price is open for your whole party.
- Nearby hubs: if Amsterdam is tight, compare Frankfurt on points.
Points or cash?
Before you transfer, compare the award fare's full cost, the points plus the cash part, with the cash fare for the same flight. When the cash fare is already low, paying cash can keep your points for a trip where they cover more. Our guide to points versus cash covers the questions to ask.
How to search it in PointsGPT
Type the trip the way you would say it, for example:
Business class from New York to Amsterdam, any day from 8 to 18 April, 2 travelers
- Tell PointsGPT which card points you hold, so it can mark the fares those points reach.
- Compare the points and the cash part on each fare, nonstop and connecting.
- Confirm the fare with the airline program before you transfer, because the transfer cannot be reversed.
When you are ready, start a search. If it comes back empty, widen the dates or try another departure airport.
Ask PointsGPT what your points can reach
